This is the standard game page layout for use on GOGWiki, it explains what content is expected on game pages. For a detailed explanation of how to correctly format a game page, please consult the manual of style.

This is the lead section. After introducing the game, a brief description of what the game is should be provided.

Any very prominent issues with a game should be mentioned here, such as whether a game is unstable for a large number of users, or requires a multiplayer key to be obtained from GOG support for online play. If a game has not been fully patched or there is a major fanpatch available, this should also be pointed out.

Overview

Not the one found on the GOG product page, but a short explanation about the game such as which part of which series it was, and how/if it is related to other games in the series (savegame transfer, storyline, or just part of the series in name only). DO NOT just copy this from Mobygames or Wikipedia, your own words please.

Release information

The file version of the game should be provided, and information about which release of the game it is (e.g. region or specific package, such as Zork Anthology) should be included if known.

Patches and modifications

Patches or files in general that enhance the game.

Official patches

If there are any official patches that are not included in the GOG release, information regarding where to get them and how to install them should be provided.

Unofficial patches

Information regarding unofficial patches that improve the stability of the game beyond that of its last official version (such as Killap's Patch for Fallout 2), including how to get and install them.

Modifications

A list of major mods, this can be further divided if the game has a lot of mods. It should be restricted to those mods that are generally regarded as essential or have a major acclaim in the community (e.g. the stuff in the Baldurs Gate stickies). In cases of modifications on the scale of Oblivion, links to fanpages would be more effective.

Known issues

A rundown of all the bugs and hardware problems that are common in the GOG release of the game. If an issue requires a detailed step by step guide for resolution, a separate page should be created and linked from the article.

Official compatibility

This section is for operation systems that are officially supported by GOG. If detailed step by step instructions are required to get the game running, a new page should be created and linked from the article.

Any information that may be required for correct performance on Windows 7.

Windows Vista

Any information that may be required for correct performance on Windows Vista.

Windows XP

Any information that may be required for correct performance on Windows XP.

Unofficial compatibility
