Official patches
The game is fully patched to the latest version, 1.0.7.4.
Unofficial patches
The "Unofficial Arcanum Patch" brings the game to version 91225. Proclaimed essential by many players of Arcanum. This patch is not compatible with older saved games.

- High-quality town maps. Increases the quality of the maps.
- High Resolution Patch. Scales the engine up for any resolution, including widescreen.

Known issues
Graphical issues
Some graphics issues have been reported by users, such as sprite transparency and slow performance. To fix these, add the following commands to an Arcanum shortcut's Target line (right-click - Properties)
-doublebuffer
-no3d
For instance, a target line would read:
G:\Games\GOG.com\Arcanum\arcanum.exe -doublebuffer -no3d
Vicinity checks
Some script glitches have been reported by users, such as NPCs not appearing or not disappearing. This may be related to the High Resolution Patch. To deal with these, uninstall the patch, restart from an earlier save, play until the script triggers properly, then reapply the patch. Note that, unlike the Unofficial Arcanum Patch, the High Resolution Patch is fully compatible with older saves.
